Featured Job Listings

Featured job listings get priority placement and visual emphasis on your board. They are one of the most effective ways to monetize because employers pay a premium for increased visibility, and the differentiation between featured and standard listings is immediately obvious to job seekers.

How featured jobs display

Featured jobs differ from standard listings in three ways. They receive a highlighted background, accent border, and Featured badge. They sort above all non-featured jobs in the feed regardless of posting date. And they receive a score boost in keyword and semantic search, so they surface first even when candidates apply filters.

Feature a job manually

1. Go to Jobs in the sidebar
2. Click the job you want to feature
3. Check the Featured job checkbox at the bottom of the form
4. Click Save changes

To remove featured status, uncheck the same checkbox and save. Manual featuring works independently of pricing plans.

Add featured slots to a pricing plan

To let employers purchase featured placement, configure featured slots on a pricing plan. You need a connected Stripe account first.

1. Go to Board settings > Monetization
2. Click Add Plan or edit an existing plan
3. Set the Featured Slots feature to the number of featured jobs included
4. Set the Feature Selection Mode to Automatic (jobs are featured on submission as long as slots are available) or Manual (employers choose which jobs to feature)
5. Save the plan

How selection modes work

Automatic mode: every job posted under the plan is featured on submission. If all featured slots are in use, the job is posted as a standard listing instead. No action required from the employer.

Manual mode: when an employer with available featured slots posts a job, a "Featured job" checkbox appears in the submission form showing remaining slots. If no slots remain, the checkbox is disabled.

Plan type examples

Single featured post: create a one-time plan with one featured slot in automatic mode. Each purchase gives the employer one featured listing.

Bundle with featured slots: create a bundle with 5 active job slots and 5 featured slots in automatic mode. Every job the employer posts is automatically featured.

Subscription with auto-featuring: create a subscription with featured slots equal to active slots in automatic mode. Slots free up when jobs expire.

Pricing featured listings

Featured listings deliver measurably more visibility than standard posts. Most niche boards charge 2-3x the standard listing price for a featured post. A simple approach is to offer a basic listing at one price point and a featured listing at 2-3x that price. You can also make featured placement the only paid option (free standard listings, paid featured) to lower the barrier for filling your board while monetizing through upgrades.
