Can visitors save their password so they don't need to enter it every time?

Yes. Once a visitor enters the correct password, their access is saved for the browser session. They can browse freely until they close their browser or clear cookies.

Will password protection affect my SEO?

Yes. Search engines cannot crawl password-protected pages, so your board won't be indexed while protection is enabled. Disable it when you're ready to launch publicly.

Can I have different passwords for different users?

No. Password protection uses a single shared password for all visitors. For user-specific access control, consider requiring account registration instead.

Does password protection affect the jobs widget?

Yes. The embed widget is disabled while password protection is on, since external sites would show your board's password prompt instead of jobs. You can still preview the widget as a signed-in admin.

Password protection restricts access to your entire job board by requiring visitors to enter a password before they can see any content. It's useful for beta testing with select users before a public launch, running private internal job boards for employees, operating exclusive member-only boards, or building white-label boards for specific clients.

Keep in mind that search engines can't crawl a password-protected board, so your pages won't be indexed while protection is active. This is fine during development, but you should disable it when you're ready for organic traffic.

Enable password protection

Go to Board settings in the sidebar (General tab)
Scroll to Password protection
Toggle Enable password protection on
Enter a password in the Password field
Optionally customize the Message to your visitors
Click Save changes

The password field is required when protection is enabled. Share the password with authorized visitors through a direct message, email, or secure internal channel. Anyone with the password can access your board.

Customize the visitor message

The default message tells visitors the board is password protected and asks them to enter the password. You can replace this with something that explains why the board is gated and how to get access. For example: "Welcome to our beta! Enter the password shared in your invite email." or "This is a private job board for [Company] employees."

What visitors see

When protection is enabled, visitors arrive at your board URL and see a password page with your custom message. After entering the correct password, they can browse the board normally. Their access is remembered for the browser session, so they don't need to re-enter it on every page.

Disable password protection

Go to Board settings in the sidebar (General tab)
Scroll to Password protection
Toggle Enable password protection off
Click Save changes

Your board is immediately accessible to everyone. Search engine indexing resumes automatically.
