Discount Codes

Offer discounts to employers using coupons and promotion codes. You need a connected Stripe account and at least one pricing plan configured before creating discounts.

Create a coupon

1. Go to Board settings > Monetization tab
2. Scroll to the Coupons and promo codes section
3. Click Create coupon
4. Fill in the details:
   • Name: a descriptive label (e.g. "Launch discount")
   • Discount type: percentage or fixed amount
   • Percent off or Amount off: the discount value (for fixed amounts, also select a currency)
   • Duration: Once (first payment only), Forever (every payment on a subscription), or Repeating (a set number of months)
   • Max redemptions: optional limit on total uses
   • Expires: optional expiration date
5. Click Create coupon

Create a promotion code

Promotion codes are what employers type at checkout (e.g. "LAUNCH50"). Each code links to a coupon.

1. Open a coupon's detail view by clicking the three-dot menu on a coupon row and selecting View details
2. In the Promotion codes section, click the + button
3. Enter a Code (automatically uppercased)
4. Optionally configure restrictions:
   • First-time order only: limits the code to employers making their first purchase
   • Limit redemptions: maximum number of times the code can be used
   • Expiration date: when the code stops working
   • Minimum order value: requires a minimum purchase amount
5. Click Add promotion code

You can create multiple promotion codes for the same coupon, each with different codes, limits, and restrictions.

How employers redeem codes

During the Stripe checkout flow for posting a job, a promotion code field appears. Employers enter any active code you've created and the discount applies automatically.

Manage coupons

Deleting a coupon deactivates all linked promotion codes. Existing discounts on active subscriptions are not affected.
