Add Legal Pages

Set up privacy policy, terms of service, cookie policy, and about page for your job board.

Legal pages protect you from liability and build trust with both job seekers and employers. They're also required by most payment processors and ad networks, so if you plan to monetize your board through Stripe or run Google AdSense, you'll need these in place before you can go live.

Cavuno gives you four legal page slots: terms of service, privacy policy, cookie policy, and about page. Each one has its own title and rich text body field with formatting support.

  1. Go to Board settings in the sidebar
  2. Click the Legal tab

You'll see a card for each legal page type. Each card has a title field (max 120 characters) and a body field (max 20,000 characters) with a rich text editor that supports bold, italic, underline, headings, bullet lists, ordered lists, and links.

Terms of service

Your terms define the rules for using your job board. They protect you if a dispute arises with a job seeker or employer.

  1. Enter a title (for example, "Terms of Service")
  2. Write your terms in the body field
  3. Click Save changes

Your terms appear at /terms-of-service on your board. Cover who can use the board, acceptable use guidelines, job posting rules for employers, intellectual property rights, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.

Privacy policy

Your privacy policy explains how you collect, use, and protect visitor data. This is legally required in most jurisdictions if you collect any personal information, which you do the moment someone submits a job application or signs up for alerts.

  1. Enter a title (for example, "Privacy Policy")
  2. Write your policy in the body field
  3. Click Save changes

Your policy appears at /privacy-policy on your board. Cover what data you collect (emails, usage data, cookies), how you use it, who you share it with (analytics providers, payment processors), how users can request data deletion, and your contact information for privacy questions.

Your cookie policy explains how your board uses cookies and tracking technologies. If you've enabled analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag) or advertising (Google AdSense) in your analytics settings, you should disclose the cookies those services set.

  1. Enter a title (for example, "Cookie Policy")
  2. Write your policy in the body field
  3. Click Save changes

Your policy appears at /cookie-policy on your board. Cover the types of cookies used (essential, analytics, advertising), the purpose of each type, how visitors can control their cookie preferences, and any third-party cookies from integrated services.

About page

The about page is optional but valuable. It tells visitors who you are, why you built the board, and what makes it different. For niche boards especially, a clear about page helps employers understand your audience and gives candidates confidence that the board is actively maintained.

  1. Enter a title (for example, "About Us")
  2. Write your content in the body field
  3. Click Save changes

Links to your configured legal pages appear automatically in your board's footer. You don't need to add them manually. If you haven't written content for a particular legal page, that link won't show. See Navigation & Footer for more on footer configuration.
